Chocolate Avocado Smoothie Bowl

Today’s post is a continuation of the chocolate avocado theme from a couple of week’s ago. This time, instead of Chocolate Avocado Cookies, I’m sharing one of my favourite smoothies bowl recipes. Today's recipe is a chocolate avocado smoothie bowl. Honestly, it tastes incredible and the texture is so damn perfect. You’ve got to give it a go.

Friday Favourites: The Vurger Co, Eat Vive and The Humble Co

Over the past months I’ve realised one of the things I love about My Life Is For Living is my ability to share and inspire. Whether it’s a new found place, a particular product, a recipe, a person or an event, I’d love to help you find those hidden gems, to decipher between the good and the bad, or maybe the worthwhile and the why bother? Lots of you often ask me for advice, so I figured, a regular “Friday favourites” blog post would be a great place to start. I'm kicking it off with The Vurger Co, Eat Vive and The Humble Co. Enjoy!

Fudgy Chocolate Avocado Cookies

This is the first of my #WASTENOTWANTNOT recipe creations that I’ll be sharing here at My Life Is For Living. As many of you know, I’m a bit of an eco warrior and I’m really passionate about preventing food waste. These chocolate avocado cookies are moist, fudgy and oh so chocolaty and made using leftover mashed avocado. Winning in every way!

Seamore I Sea Pasta Review and Recipe

When Seamore contacted me asking me if I’d like to try I Sea Pasta (made from 100% seaweed), I must admit I was intrigued. Don’t get me wrong, I love our traditional carb filled pasta (my recent trip to Italy definitely rekindled this for me!), but I’m also one to try new things. Seeing as I really enjoy nori as a wrap for my sushi and crispy seaweed to compliment my Chinese stir fry, I said yes. Head to the full post to see how I go on...

Florence Favourites Part 3: Traditional Italian

Part 3 of my Florence foodie finds (the final part) is dedicated to traditional Italian spots that we stumbled across during our stay. I’ve chosen to tell you about two Tuscan spots – SimBIOsi and Acqua Al 2 - as they both served delicious food in charming settings. As Dory from Finding Dory says, sometimes “the best things happen by chance.”

My Experience of the Flavour Generator

Good morning all and happy Friday! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted regularly on here, but I’m really pleased to say that I’m back on it. With more time on my hands over the summer and a head full of ideas (you should see my notebook!), I can’t wait to get well and truly stuck in. I’m kicking things off with a review about the new Flavour Generator by Hello Fresh. Although a recipe box isn’t usually my thing, I decided to try something new and I'm so glad I did. Head to the full post to find out more!

Sweetly Cinnamon Hummus

Everyone loves hummus. Okay, so not quite everyone (I've met the occasional oddball!), but most people and apparently it's International Hummus Day tomorrow, so I wanted to come up with a hummus recipe to mark the occasion. However, this time I wanted to make something a little different. Sweet hummus. The recipe is generally just too good not to share.

Chocolate Orange Power Bowl

As you might have noticed, I’m quite the smoothie bowl fan. Secretly, I prefer to call mine ‘power bowls’ though, as they’re so much than your regular smoothie. Today's is one of my favourite flavour combinations - chocolate orange. It's thick enough to be eaten with a spoon and made with plenty of nutritious ingredient, making it a deliciously satisfying breakfast. I hope you like it!

Tumeric Chocolate Topped Banana Bread

Although there’s no denying the numerous banana bread recipes out there, I wanted to make my own. I’d like to call today’s banana bread my ‘Golden Loaf’ as it came out a gorgeous golden yellow due to the addition of ground turmeric, and, being a chocoholic, I couldn’t resist adding a little chocolaty twist too. I hope you like this one - if you could have smelt my kitchen this morning then I guarantee you’d be rushing to make it in no time!

Buckwheat Banana Pancakes

This weekend involved a hell of a lot of bananas. Never mind though as bananas are little nutrition powerhouses - I feel that they work wanders for the mind and body! These buckwheat banana pancakes were a bit of a spontaneous decision, but they turned out so delicious that I couldn't resist sharing the recipe. I hope you like them!

Mixed Berry Overnight Oats

Apologies for my radio silence the past month. It's been a crazy busy few weeks in all areas of my life which, combined with a broken laptop (which spent over three weeks in repair), meant blogging had to take a back seat. Anyway, I'm now back and have lots of deliciousness and ridiculous rambles stored up to share. I'm starting with this recipe - mixed berry overnight oats - perfect for all you busy bees! Enjoy!

Banana Nutella Swirl Muffins

With four incredibly ripe bananas and far too many frozen bananas already stocking up my freezer, I decided it had to be a banana themed bake. What better thing to do when you’re resting at home than to bake up something delicious?  Surely food that makes you smile makes you feel better inside too?  These are really straightforward to make, but still a little bit exciting too due to the chocolate swirl.  I hope you like them!
