Strawberry Chia Jam

As you’ve probably noticed, I love berries.  We've had a gorgeous supply all summer, but unfortunately the season is drawing to a close. With Autumnal weather setting in, I've been craving warmer breakfasts. Nothing goes better with all my favourite warming breakfasts than homemade chia jam. It's time to get creative before it's too late. I like my homemade jam a little chunky (“with bits”), really sticky and preferably layered with peanut butter… I hope you enjoy this one!

Little things make big things happen: my tips to reduce landfill waste

This week, instead of my Friday Favourites, I wanted to share something a little different. You may or may not know that this week is Zero Waste Week. This is annual international campaign aimed at reducing landfill. Over the past couple of years, I’ve become more aware of the impact of my actions on the world around me and I’ve been trying to live in a more sustainable and conscious manner.

Today I wanted to share a few of the things that I’ve incorporated into my life to help reduce the amount of landfill waste you produce and to protect the environment. Please let me know your thoughts and whether you'd like to see more posts like this! #mylifeisforliving

Sweetly Roasted Sweet Potato Chunks

As the weather slowly begins to change and summer drawers to a close, I’m finding myself craving warmer breakfasts again. For me, sweet potato is such a comfort food. It's got such a unique taste and is packed full of nutritional benefits too. What better way to enjoy it than with coconut oil, honey, cinnamon and a pinch of salt. It’s such a simple recipe, but it's so damn good.

Friday Favourites: Missfits Nutrition, Toast and Pro-Yo

Being busy isn’t an excuse not to take care of yourself. This week's Friday Favourites are a few of my favourite ‘grab and go’ options that keep me on track when I'm busy. Plant based protein sachets, the humble British toast and squeezy yoghurt pouches are in the spotlight, as I’m certainly one to reach for an easy option when I can!

Creamy Tofu One Pot

This is a simple one-pan dish that takes minutes to make. The recipe serves one, but it can be easily doubled, leaving you leftovers for the next day as it travels well too! It’s made with the Mr Organic Grilled Pepper Add-In, which adds a delicious creaminess, pimping what would be a fairly simple dish into something special.

Peanut Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m on a bit of a cookie obsession at the moment and I've really enjoyed snacking on a variety of homemade treats. These little thumbprint cookies are made using peanut flour, which gives them a deliciously chewy texture and nutty taste and filled with chocolate spread, because peanut and chocolate are a match made in heaven. I hope you like them!

Friday Favourites: The Vurger Co, Eat Vive and The Humble Co

Over the past months I’ve realised one of the things I love about My Life Is For Living is my ability to share and inspire. Whether it’s a new found place, a particular product, a recipe, a person or an event, I’d love to help you find those hidden gems, to decipher between the good and the bad, or maybe the worthwhile and the why bother? Lots of you often ask me for advice, so I figured, a regular “Friday favourites” blog post would be a great place to start. I'm kicking it off with The Vurger Co, Eat Vive and The Humble Co. Enjoy!

Winning in every way!

Seamore I Sea Pasta Review and Recipe

When Seamore contacted me asking me if I’d like to try I Sea Pasta (made from 100% seaweed), I must admit I was intrigued. Don’t get me wrong, I love our traditional carb filled pasta (my recent trip to Italy definitely rekindled this for me!), but I’m also one to try new things. Seeing as I really enjoy nori as a wrap for my sushi and crispy seaweed to compliment my Chinese stir fry, I said yes. Head to the full post to see how I go on...

Florence Favourites Part 3: Traditional Italian

Part 3 of my Florence foodie finds (the final part) is dedicated to traditional Italian spots that we stumbled across during our stay. I’ve chosen to tell you about two Tuscan spots – SimBIOsi and Acqua Al 2 - as they both served delicious food in charming settings. As Dory from Finding Dory says, sometimes “the best things happen by chance.”
